Verified 15 September 2026.

TikTok’s new-advertiser program is a 30-day spend-match up to $6,000. Meta does not run an equivalent public evergreen ladder in September 2026. What Meta still issues: 16-digit ad-credit codes from partners or sales, Shopify / onboarding $50–$100 bundles, startup-cloud bundles, and short seasonal promos.

If you are new on both platforms, the TikTok match is the larger media subsidy. That does not mean TikTok is the better channel.

TikTok Ads Manager campaigns table
TikTok match is up to $6,000. Meta credits are usually $50–$100.
TikTok in-feed sponsored ad
TikTok attaches at signup. Meta often wants a 16-digit code.

Cost context (directional, 2026 guides)

Auction prices move. Use bands, then read your own account.

Metric TikTok Ads Meta Ads (Facebook / Instagram)
Typical CPM $4–$13, many accounts $6–$9. Adcore cites ~$9.16 avg vs Meta ~$14.91 $8–$18 DTC common
Typical CPC $0.30–$1.50 $1–$3 conversion traffic; traffic campaigns cheaper
Platform minimum $50/day campaign, $20/day ad group Practical test still $20–$50/day
Creative half-life ~5–12 days DTC Longer on stable statics + video
APAC CPM Often $1.50–$2.20 in ID / TH / VN / PH Still higher than local TikTok in most verticals

Cheaper CPM on TikTok is real. Conversion rate and retargeting on Meta are also real. Do not pick a platform because the coupon is bigger.

Creative

TikTok wants native vertical video, hook in the first second, sound on, Spark Ads on posts that already have comments. Creative dies fast. Budget the match for volume of cuts, not one polished film.

Meta still lets statics, carousels, Advantage+ catalogs, and a mature CAPI setup carry budget. Creative lasts longer. Retargeting and lookalikes remain why most DTC brands keep the majority of paid social on Meta until TikTok creative velocity is proven.

When to take the TikTok $6,000 match first

  • You have never advertised on TikTok Ads Manager
  • You can fund $500–$6,000 cash in 30 days from signup
  • You already have 8–15 native videos, or a creator who can cut them this week
  • AOV is impulse-friendly or the product demonstrates on camera
  • You accept that the first two weeks are learning, not ROAS theater

Top-tier math: $6,000 credit.

When to stay on Meta and skip the rush

  • The TikTok account is not new. The match will not attach
  • You only have static product shots
  • You need pipeline this month from warm audiences
  • You cannot staff a 7-day creative refresh

You can run both. The match does not require you to turn Meta off. It requires a clean new TikTok Ads Manager and cash spend on that account.

Worked split

$1,000 TikTok cash in month 1 → $1,000 credit → $2,000 TikTok media if you hit that tier. Keep Meta at its current profitable budget. Do not starve the channel that already pays to “use the coupon.”

If TikTok CPA after the matched month is worse than Meta by more than the 50% media subsidy, stop scaling TikTok. Keep leftover credit on Spark tests until a winner appears.

If a Meta $50–$100 credit appears in Billing, claim it in Payment settings and set an account spend cap so the card does not run after that credit dies.
